Michel: thanks, I sent my lines (twice: I sent the wrong file at first... sigh
)!
Trevor: Not sure what you're asking exactly, so just to cover it all, I'll go into it in more details... might be of help to all the newer GMs.
1) After you start the program, double-click on your team.
2) The first thing you wanna do is make sure you have a complete roster. Click on the "Roster" thingy.
N.B. since it's summertime and the rosters are screwed up, the program will probably pop an error message; forget about it for now.
3) In the upper-right corner you'll probably have a "Roster incomplete" message. Now you have to dress the good number of players on your pro team (left window) (I think it's 18 skaters + 2 goalies, somebody correct me if I'm wrong). Players not dressed must be put in the scratches (middle window). The right window is for your minor leaguers. You move players from one to the other with the buttons below the windows. During the season, you have to be careful when you send players in the minors (see the "Waivers" section of the Rule book). Once you have the right numbers, a "Roster is complete" message will appear in the corner. Press "Exit".
4) Time to make your lines. The "Lines" button is for your pro team, the "Farm lines" is... yeah, you guessed it
The process is the same for both. Let's say you want to make your pro lines.
5) The window on the left will list all players according to the criteria you select (the "Show: " line in the upper part of the screen). You enter a player on a specific line by pressing its name in the list and by clicking in the line's positions where you want him to play. You don't have to reclick him each time. As long as your lines are illegal, you'll have a "Lines are incomplete" message in the upper-right corner.
A few notes:
* When you're done with all your lines, don't forget to save !!! A file with your team's name will be created. It's that file that you have to send via email to the adress Michel mentioned above.
* If something is wrong with your lines, the programm will fill the necessary spots with an "unkonwn player" or "unkown goalie" to make the lines legal. Trust me, you don't want this.
* All the lists you see in the TFNHL site (Rosters, Finances...) are generated using the lines input. That's why I wanted to send my lines: I wanted to know what the hell is happening budget-wise with my team
Also allows a clearer picture of what your team will look like, so you make better trades/draft picks...
Hope this helps... If you have questions drop them here, someone will surely answer !
Tristan
P.S. Have I answered you question Trevor ?
