I know we can't be playing with bonus in the Sim as it is done in the NHL but shouldn't we be negotiating contracts per the Cap Hit. I attempted to make a trade using the bonus figure as a reason to do the trade not realizing the column heading on the site. Seeing the salaries updates now it is way off the NHL's salaries. I know for the strong clubs with good prospects they might not want to use the cap hit but it might be the best thing to do. It could force trades where they might not have been a reason to do one. In the end it might also bring some more calculated trades and for sure more activity. Now I am on my way to see who would be in trouble if we were using the Cap Hit figures. A second thought I had was for an extended pre-season with the new Sim. I am not expecting a huge favorable response to this idea given the vacation season. Edit: That would be no laughing matter for at least one team. Maybe we could use the cap hit figure for teams under our cap. With the cap hit salary being locked onto the player. There are some discrepancies with some salaries for the Leafs. I have one player with his bonus in and another with his salary for 2011/2012. Again just take this for discussion or future provisions.

Personally, I don't think we should use "cap hit" until/unless such a feature is made available within the SIM framework.
As for the extended pre-season... I welcome it! The only thing I fear is injury.
On either point, despite my personal feelings, I'll gladly defer to the majority rule based on subsequent replies to this thread.

I don't mean to use it as a salary and bonus calculation but in ''NHL cap hit = TFNHL salary'' calculation. Like I said above I think it would only be welcomed by under the cap TFNHL teams. One thing to remember is that salary would be locked onto the player in trades.
