Here is where I would like everyone to post the players on the PRO/FARM roster that did not play in North America last season, and therefore must be taken out of the sim. Also for players who retired.
EX:
-Columbus sends John Smith to the prospect list
-Columbus drops John Doe (europe)
-Columbus Retired Ron retired.
Do not send to my email, because they could get lost with all the email i get.
please look at the following rules:
He can be moved to your prospect list after you pay him 50% of his remaining contract, or you can drop him outright without penalty. If you pay 50% and move him to prospect list, you can keep him there indefinitely.
On that same topic, I have Alexander Nikulin & Andrej Plekhanov that are still in the SIM but should not be.... They did not play in North America last year, yet they are still rated in the SIM. There are a number of other guys like that: Sergei Zubov, Nikolai Zherdev, Brendan Shanahan, P.J. Axelsson, to name just a few. Some have retired. Others are playing internationally.
We need guys like this removed from the SIM. Again, we need ALL GMs to help with this. If you own a player who did not play in North America, we need you to be honest & report right away how you want to handle this move.
To be clear, this thread is talking about players that are being removed from the SIM. We are NOT talking about players still in the SIM who may be dropped to free up roster space or because they have performed below expectations.
Retiring players are covered in Section 16.8 and must be paid according to the schedule below. If a GM signed a 39 year old guy to a 3 year contract, they knew the risk they were getting into. So, they can either pay the player a percentage of their due contract or take the hit against their cap.
16.8. Free Agent Contract Restrictions
...
3. Signing players who are 35 years old or older to contracts longer than 1 year in length will require either buyout the player or counting his salary toward your cap number in case such a player retires prior to his contract ending. The following rules will apply:
1 year left on player’s contract upon his retirement – you can buy him out at 50% of remaining salary OR count his entire salary toward your cap
2 years left on player’s contract upon his retirement – you can buy him out at 75% of remaining salary OR count his entire salary toward you cap.
3 or more years left on player’s contract upon his retirement – you can buy him out at 85% of remaining salary OR count his entire salary toward your cap.
Guys playing in Europe are covered in Section 14.2
14.2 Playing Internationally
If a player decides to leave North America to play overseas, a team can choose to honor 50% of the player's total contract in order to retain his rights upon returning or opt to release the player immediately without penalty.
Scenario: Evgeni Malkin signs with a Continental Hockey League team in the off-season.
Option A: Team honors the player's contract (50% total value). By doing so, they retain his rights upon returning to North America. The player is transferred from the team's roster to the team's prospect list.
Option B: Team releases the player without pay. By doing so, the team holds no exclusive rights upon returning to North America. The player is removed from the team's roster and/or prospect list and deleted from the database.
If the player in question is not signed to a contract, but is on the team's prospect list. The player can remain there indefinitely thereby allowing the team to retain his rights.
If a player leaves North America while a TFNHL season is still in progress, then the player will be removed from the team's active roster at the end of the TFNHL season. If the player leaves during the TFNHL off-season, a team must immediately make a decision to remove the player.
A player's rights can be traded just as any prospect can be. If the player is released by their former team, they will become an unrestricted free-agent upon returning to North America and participating in an official game.
