Some of the players on there make no sense to me.
Frederik Norrena, who hasn't played in a while in the NHL, has a 73 OV ?!? There are guys who I haven't even heard of that also have 70 OV. Sure we don't have to go by that stat, as I have said I don't really use, but still these OV are close to PS3 or X-Box type of games.

that's fine it was just another way of looking at things rather just one ratings package.
I rate players from European leagues not as inferiors but close to the level that they are in real life.

Ok John. Now I understand a little bit better your rating. But I still like the fact that most of the guys in our league seem weaker. Makes it that more challenging for GMs to build a good team.

I compared Andy Greene to Nicklas Lidstrom. Then I just spot checked John Mitchell, Drew Miller. meh If anyone can also compare Greene to Lidstrom I will be very happy to read your comments. I really don't care which rating package is used. You win with some players in one and lose with the same players in another.

i dont really see what's overly bad with the ratings.......there may be an oddity here and there but if import the ratings into excel and sort by category they aren't horrible. i'm not sure how they rate specifically but there isn't anything drastically wrong with CK, PA, SC which are the easiest categories to think about statiscally

i just fell de defense ratings a really unrealistic, not just my defense all the defense I am not sure if it's with this package (LCHV) that the defensemen are on a different calculations in regards to forwards. Both of the ratings we have here are no good. I checked 2 of my Ds (Michalek and O'Donnell) in +/- for their career one is +85 and the other -22. Now without checking which one is -22 for his career? Those holes in the wall just won't fill up using any ratings package out there.

my guess is the lchv guy(s) smartly dont use plus/minus as a defensive stat
how o'donnell is an 88 DF though is mystifying =)

nope +/- is a non factor
DF in my ratings is determined by a combination of average TOI, a percentage of a players Shorthanded TOI divided by total TOI, blocks, short handed goals and takeaways
