Somebody got srewed big time LOL Think the Blues are kicking themselves for taking Erik Johnson, instead of Stanley Cup & Conn Smyth winning, not too mention Olympic MVP forward, Jonathan Toews? To Avalanche D Erik Johnson F Jay McClement Conditional 1st-Round Pick (2011 or 2012) To Blues F Chris Stewart D Kevin Shattenkirk Conditional 2nd-Round Pick (2011 or 2012) Blues are the winners by far... www.tsn.ca/tradecentre/story/?id=354489

I think it is more even than you think. The determining point will be the value and outcome of the 1st round pick. Could turn into a star player. EJ is still only 22, and everyteam needs players like McClement. I think St Louis won the trade for now, but not by as much as you may think.

Johnson he's not what you think he is...and the futur will show it.
When an American goes # 1 in the draft it is usually a very weak draft. In the last 15 years there have been 4 American 1st Overall Picks. 3 were busts - Bryan Bernard, Rick DiPietro, and Eric Johnson. Eric Johnson will not be missed. He was very very good in junior and NCAA cause he was 4-5 inches bigger then all this guy's ..yes he has talent but not what we think...We need to start thinking by ourself and not only see where the guy was drafted and the hype around him. And don't forget he had a ACL knee surgery already. Patrick Kane was the best of them and he is very talented. And the underatted Shattenkirk will prove it all alone with 40 points in his first NHL season. Today Stewart 2 goals Shattenkirk one pass with the Blues. Just the begining. Not cause he's draft first overall that he will be a franchise player...and you will see it. Av's lost this one like they lost the Peter Mueller one.

JD wanted a power forward and he got one.
Shattenkirk is something else, I don't see the Avs winning this deal.
Both teams can switch the #1 if it's a top 10. I am not sure who has preference.
